Q & A Time: My Daddy is a Police Officer

Q: My parents just bought my 3 year old the cutest, “My Daddy is Police Officer” t-shirt. My husband is afraid to let him wear it. I think he’s over-reacting…what do you think?

A: Good question! I used to not think twice about this sort of thing. When my boys were little they each had t-shirts declaring how proud they were of their big police daddy. Unfortunately, I have to say I agree with your husband. There are a ton of whack-a-doos (yes, that’s a word) out there who flat out hate cops. Why advertise that your little one belongs to one? I would have your baby wear it at times when you know you’re just with friends and family, but not out in public.
